Ajax kreeg de afgelopen weken twee biedingen binnen vanuit China voor haar spelers. Zo zou er 43 miljoen euro zijn geboden op David Neres en 25 miljoen euro op Dusan Tadic.
Ajax lijkt beide aanvallers te willen behouden. In het geval van Tadic is dat terecht, zo meent Johan Derksen. “Ajax heeft niet zo’n behoefte aan cash, want ze staan er financieel goed voor”, opent de voetbalanalist in Veronica Inside. “Een speler met de specifieke kwaliteiten van Tadic ligt niet voor het oprapen en je bent het grootste deel van je winst dan ook alweer kwijt. Nu ze op de goede weg zijn, moeten ze even niet naar het geld kijken.”
“Dat heeft op dit moment niet de prioriteit voor Ajax”, aldus Derksen, die net als René van der Gijp wel ‘ja’ zou zeggen tegen het bod op Neres. “Als ze mij zouden bellen voor Neres en 43 miljoen euro zouden bieden, dan zou ik zeggen: veertig is ook zat. We moeten wel normaal blijven doen natuurlijk, het loopt compleet uit de hand”, lacht Gijp.
